Water Exercises

We started off learning about RealFlow. It crashed. Many, many times.

But we did make some pretty wave simulations;

And then we created a ball and used gravity to drop it into the water to have it create waves.

Well, for some reason the water vanished. Oh well.

Skeletons

Been screwing around with my two characters, trying to figure out how I could go around making their skeletons/rig. Mostly by tracing where their actual skeletons would be, especially with their joints.

Why did I make a centaur weta/tuatara uuuugh she has so many legs.

Doodles for an antagonist for personal project

Started off with the usual stuff, creepy spider/snake hybrid with spikes all out the wazoo. The antagonist is what sets most of Falafael's adventures in action. He starts off being a curious lil' ratface and winds up in an encounter with the Lady of the Forest/The Dark Lady, who's just chilling in her den with this little snot breaks into her house and goes rummaging through her stuff.

I'm making her a bit more interesting, rather than just a boring snake/spider, she's going to be a weta/tuatara with gecko hands. Get some real kiwiana going in this animation. Also, it makes her look cooler.

I added the porowhita to her forehead (like a tuatara's third eye) which Falafael ends up breaking in the end of the introduction. This causes the whole splinting and warping, which teleports Falafael to a different location when he grabs one of the shards, which provides the 'adventure' of the story, since he must now track down and recieve the shards to repair the porowhita in order to get home.

Of course the final shard is still embedded in the forehead of the Lady of the Forest.

Some inspirations for my personal project

I've been looking up 'mini games' and 'side scroller games' since they are the kind I would like to explore for my personal project.

One I found I really liked was Badland, by Frogmind;
I just really like the environments, especially the mossy trees and industrial piping that litters the areas.

Another game I studied was Trine 2 by Frozenbyte;
Hmmm, lush foliage.
