Musin's

So I've been working on some things for our film, mainly doing giant chains and thick robes for the Bone Ship.

Chains like this;
Mainly because these chains are the ones they use on docks to haul up those gigantic ships. Figured it'd fit with the whole rustic post nuclear theme we're going for.

With the ropes I'm just going to make it all gnarly and coarse- doubt cultists really care about looking nice and pretty.

Also been brainstorming some of my independent animation; thinking of doing a mini-game involving Falafael, a small fluffy mouse/kangaroo that's a side scroller. So I've been doodling some of that in my spare time and trying to get some good concepts to go along.

Veni, Vidi, Vic

 That's right, I've gotten Dark Souls 2 and I kicked it's ass.

Well okay, I died a few hundred times. (And global deaths are 100 million something)

The game carries on with the desolate, Undead everything-is-trying-to-kill-you theme.

New enemies show up, such as the Pursuer;

The King's Guard who attacks you with a giant bell club;

 A crazed king who got consumed by iron and lava;

Of course, you get odd enemies such as giant dragon skeletons that fire their skulls at you.

There's also the Looking Glass Knight, who is able to summon PvP Brotherhood of Blood players to aid him in the fight.

Once again we are friends with those Bonewheel skeletons.

A possessed Chariot drawn by a two-headed demon horse;

A giant monster made up of numerous undead bodies;

Also some very pretty cloth simulation, due to the large variety of capes and swaying armour you can choose to equip. Not to mention some very delicious environments.

Including the Dragon Arie (though they are technically Wyverns)

But yeah, final boss was kind of a let down- she hit really friggin' hard, but it was also kinda obvious when she was gonna attack. Oh well, I'll just carry on being a Sunbro for the time being.

The beauty of CG Hair

She asks me why, I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night, hair that's a fright
I'm hairy high and low, don't ask me why, don't know
It's not for lack of bread, like the Greatful Dead, darlin'

Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy

Hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow, my hair

Let it fly in the breeze and get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas, in my hair
A home for fleas, a hive for the buzzing bees
A nest for birds, there ain't no words
For the beauty, splendor, the wonder of my hair

Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow, my hair
I want long, straight, curly, fuzzy, snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka dotted, twisted, beaded, braided
Powered, flowered and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spahettied

Oh say, can you see my eyes if you can
Then my hair's too short
Down with here, down to there
Down till there, down to where it's stuck by itself
They'll be ga-ga at the go-go, when they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond, brilliantined, biblical hair
My hair like Jesus wore it, Hallelujah I adore it
Hallelujah Mary loved her son, why don't my mother love me?

Hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow
My hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow
My hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow
My hair

Crafting

So much of the holidays was dedicated to creating sets and props for our game trailer. I spent some time making decorations, such as fancy lanterns (though we're not putting a candle in them) as well as a skull buckle which kinda high lighted the fact I need some practice at paper mache, or however you spell it.

Anyway, asides from that I was working on my Hair assignment. Ahahaha, yeah. Hair. Such a wonderful thing to try and animate. Hair. Everywhere. Going through eyeballs. Flying away. Eating the head. HAIR

Ponds and trees

Some environment investigation for the personal project; just trying to find a good pond area for the setting of the animation. Water, such a fun thing to animate.

That also means I get to do some trees!

Seriously, why do I always pick environments with trees in them? But there are some pretty weird looking trees out there;

Just have to figured out which one will fit best.

Maya ad-on

Found this hilariously awesome peacock moose;

It was on an article on Kostas, talking about some new shading ad-on for Maya, it's ."A Physically Based Lighting CGFX real-time shader for Maya which was originally created to be used by our students at The Game Assembly for their 3D game projects"

And some other nifty stuff, but I just really like the peacock moose.
